An Open House is an effective means of membership building. Also called a Showcase Meeting, Model Meeting or Demonstration Meeting, an Open House is a single club meeting used to celebrate the Club Charter Date Anniversary, a national or local holiday, club, or civic event. An Open House can also consist of a special educational program presented from members/District Officers. Involve the whole club. If you do not have enough club members to successfully launch the program, call on members from other clubs to help out. Publicize Big and at least 4-6 weeks in advance. Invite guests and be ready to sign them up on the spot. Invite past members to come back and join the fun again and remind them there is no new member fee! Properly planned, Open Houses are a proven method for membership building!
